SystemsWay is a management approach rooted in Systems Philosophy, that challenges us to think about our thinking with which we approach to solve complex organizational and societal problems. SystemsWay was developed after observing that much of today's challenges arise from our current thinking which is shaped by an implicitly learned philosophy while practicing hard scientific methods. While this thinking and philosophy is very effective for design, management and operation of mechanical, technical and non-living systems, it falls short and at times detrimental to complex techno-social, mechano-social and living systems of which corporation is a perfect example. Therefore, SystemsWay academy asserts that there is an urgent need to enhance and complement our current thinking and philosophy rooted in hard scientific methods, with Systems Philosophy, Systems Thinking, SystemsWay management approach rooted in soft scientific methods.
Note: Soft science does not mean weaker, lighter, or easier science; in fact, it means the opposite. It is a complex, nuanced, and challenging discipline. Norbert Wiener's quote perfectly captures this distinction: "Hard science tackles soft problems, and soft science tackles hard problems." At SystemsWay, we believe that we've approached solving hard (techno-social) problems using only the hard science we knew when we should have employed soft science. This reliance on hard science comes from our education and societal belief in being "scientific." Now that we have developed a meaningful understanding of soft science, it's time to embrace it. Learning soft science is difficult—very difficult—but if you commit your time and effort, SystemsWayAcademy can make it a tad easier.
